Why should I use oil, butter or balm for my beard?
Your face is exposed to the elements every day, and therefore so is your beard. These products protect the hair and your skin so that you can grow the best one possible! Many common issues like ingrown hair, acne, dandruff and skin irritation are all possible with having a beard, and the right products can help you create your own beard care routine to keep them at bay.
Are any of your ingredients tested on animals?
100% NO. We only test on human beards. We have pets of our own, and consider them part of the family. We would never knowingly use ingredients that do test on animals of any kind. Even better news, Canada has finally and officially banned cosmetic testing on animals - a big win!
Why is "parfum" listed in your ingredients?
Short answer: Canadian labeling laws
Long answer: By law we either have to state all of the essential oils we use in each one, OR list parfum instead. And while it's true that some cosmetic companies use this loophole to hide less than favourable ingredients they wish not to disclose, we simply use it to shorten our ingredients list on the labels.
What is the best way to use your products?
Beard Oil: It is best applied in the morning to a clean, damp beard. Apply a few drops into the palm of your hand (the amount will depend on the length of your beard) and then rub palms together. Take a big sniff if you've ordered one of our scented ones (trust us!), and then work the oil through your whole beard and the skin underneath to stay moisturized and combat dry skin (if you have any). Repeat once again in the evening for best results.
Beard Butter: Scoop about a dime sized amount of the butter out with your finger and rub it between your palms (amount will depend on length of your beard). Work product through your beard from roots to tips to lock in moisture and condition the hair. Apply butter once daily, a few minutes after you apply your oil (either in the morning to help also lightly shape your beard, or in the evening to lock in hydration throughout the night).
Beard Balm: Scrape a dime sized amount of beard balm out with your fingernail (amount will depend on length of your beard). Rub your hands together to warm and melt the balm and then work it through your beard. Brush or use fingers to tame flyaways and create desired style. Go on with your day looking like a boss!
Our products work best after a shower, to a towel dried beard.
Do your products have a shelf life?
Although all of our carrier oils have a shelf life between 2-3 years, once you open your products, we give them approximately a 12 month lifespan to be on the safe side.
Two of our carrier oils - Squalene, and Meadow foam seed also do not oxidize quickly when exposed to air which helps!
Please note that our bottles are frosted, and while a lot of companies prefer not to use them, we love the look of it. The issue many people face is the fact that prolonged exposure to UV rays can cause the oils to go rancid. However, most beard enthusiasts know not to keep products in direct sunlight so we don't see an issue.
SHIPPING Q&A
How long do orders take between me placing it, and them being fulfilled?
All orders will be filled in the order that they come in to us. We will do our absolute best to have your order(s) processed and shipped within 72hrs. Orders placed on weekends, and holidays will be processed on the following business day. If we ever leave for a vacation, we will either let our customers know and fulfill them once we are back, or have someone in our family help package and ship them while we are away (if it's possible - but please know it very well may not be). Please give us grace for the first little while as we are brand new at everything and only 2 people doing this.
What do I do if my products arrive broken in the packaging?
If your products are broken during the transport process, please send us an email with a photo(s) of the situation so we can best assess the next steps. We will absorb the shipping cost and send out the new products to you right away should you have broken items.
How long do I have to return a product?
You have 14 business days to return an item from the date you received it. To be eligible for a return, the item must be unused and in the same condition as you received it. It must be in original packaging. You also must have a receipt or proof of purchase.
What is the refund process?
Once we have received your return, we will look it over and let you know we have it. Once we have inspected the item and approved the refund, we will initiate a refund to your original method of payment. It could take a few days for your bank or other institution to issue the credit to you, depending on their policies.
Return costs
You are responsible for paying the shipping costs for returning your item, which is non-refundable.
